Krzysztof Rost started his career as an effects artist at Xaos Inc, a CG company in San Francisco in 1994. He joined PDI/DreamWorks Animation in 1997 and continued expanding his professional experience in CG effects for live-action films as well as computer animated feature films. He joined PIXAR Animation Studios in 2015, in the effects department. Presently he just finished effects work Incredibles 2.

His film credits include Peacemaker, Mission Impossible 2, A.I., Minority Report, Shrek 2, Madagascar, Over the Hedge, MegaMind , The Rise of Guardians, Peabody&Sherman, The Good Dinosaur, Piper, Finding Dori,Cars3 and Incredibles 2.

Krzysztof was nominated for an Annie Award and a VES for his work on effects in Incredibles 2,Shrek 3, MegaMind and Peabody&Sherman. He presented Particle Footprint paper at SIGGRAPH ‘07, and co-presented Moving Jungle for film Madagascar. At SIGGRAPH ‘11 presented Fire, Smoke and Data for MegaMind and was a co-author of Weathering the black hole for Peabody & Sherman talk at SIGGRAPH’14. Most recently co-presented Racing to the finish line at SIGGRAPH’17. He took part in the panel Other educational Models at FMX ’14 and presented Piper-Animating and Simulating Sand at FMX’17.

He graduated from the School of Visual Arts New York in 1994 with an MFA in Computer Art. Prior to his graduate studies he attended the State University of Purchase in New York where he graduated in 1992 with BFA in Fine Art. Since 2012 Krzysztof has been mentoring students at FilmAkademie in Ludwigsburg, Germany as Senior Lecturer.
