Acting for Animators

Ed Hooks |

This masterclass is specifically for animators. The fact is that animators and stage actors use the same acting theory, but they perceive and apply it differently. Stage actors work in the present moment; animators have 24-frames-make-a-second, i.e. the illusion of a present moment. Animators do not need to learn how to emotionally stimulate themselves in the present moment. They do not need to practice relaxation exercises or sense memory or emotional recall - all of which are standard for stage. NOTE : THIS MASTERCLASS IS SOLD OUT

Practical Creature Animation

Drew Collins | Teesside University

This workshop takes the form of short theory class, including practical tips and tricks to improve your animation skills, followed by a practical animation session, where you will animate a quadruped walking through a scene. Quadruped Creature animation is often thought of as the most difficult sides of the animator’s role and is lacking from most animation reels. After this session you will be able to not only animate this type of shot, but have the skills to take this knowledge into all your future creature work! As part of this Masterclass, you will be provided with an industry level creature rig (Maya), for your personal use, which you can keep and use for non-commercial animation for your reel. Look forward to spending some time with you! PLEASE NOTE: THIS MASTERCLASS IS NOW SOLD OUT
