Christine’s talk will deconstruct animation concepts from film and video games and discuss how many of these ideas need to be re-evaluated when working with an audience that is both independent and directly embedded in a scene. As an animator in the entertainment industry for nearly 10 years, Christine has worked for studios such as Nickelodeon, LucasArts, Double Fine Productions, Nintendo, and Valve.

"The best things in life come as a surprise", explained Georg when asked what his keynote was going to be about, supplementing his answer with a subtle nod and confident thumbs-up. It might be difficult to believe that Georg used a random generator to come up with the title of this talk. When we probed for more details he initiated an elaborate hand gesture and disappeared in a cloud of smoke, which morphed into the word IMAGINATION!. We can't wait for this talk and I am sure you can't too !

The pace at which mobile games are being released is astounding. With the explosion of digital distribution, as well as easy to use third party engines, the barrier to entry for the mobile games market is lower than ever. In this talk, Richard will cover the struggles of operating in such a red ocean, and shares his thoughts on what strategies he thinks can be adopted to allow development studios to swim rather than sink. Richard Sun is the founder of WIGU Games, a very successful games development studio based in Malaysia.

Alessandro discusses how his work on Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, DmC: Devil May Cry and the upcoming Hellblade, has made Ninja Theory games visually stand out from the crowd. He will show how Ninja Theory has approached creative challenges from different angles, to achieve something fresh new and unique. Besides being Ninja Theory's Art Director creating the visual style of ENSLAVED and DMC, multi-talented Alessandro is also a freelance illustrator for Random house and Bloomsbury Publishing.

A look behind the systems, senses and design of the alien from The Creative Assembly’s evolution of horror game, Alien: Isolation. Lead Designer Gary explains how the team approached this daunting task, some of the things they learned and tricks to working with the alien. With 14 years industry experience and lead positions on many triple A titles, Gary is an experienced designer with a focus on gameplay experience and quality. Gary has shipped over 7 Triple A titles and worked on a wide variety of genres including third person action adventure games, film licenses, racing games, first person shooters, platformers and simulation games

Constructing a Procedural Train Track on Inside Out

Vincent Serritella | Pixar

San Francisco based Effects Technical Director and fine artist Vincent Serritella will present the challenges encountered on Disney/Pixar’s “Inside Out” when constructing and deconstructing a procedurally generated train track inside the mind. Vincent will also discuss his year long web based project, Project 365, the goal of which was to create and give away an original piece of artwork every day for one year to anyone in the world for free.
