Vanessa Alessi is a Senior Animator at DNEG Animation, currently based in London. She began her animation career working on Jorge R. Gutiérrez’s Maya and the Three, created entirely in Blender, and has since brought her craft to studios across Canada, Germany, and the UK.

At DNEG Animation, Vanessa has contributed to the Oscar-nominated feature Nimona, as well as Under the Boardwalk, That Christmas, and the yet-to-be-released The Cat in the Hat. She is currently animating on the upcoming The Angry Birds 3 Movie.

Before joining DNEG Animation, Vanessa worked as a Senior Feature Animator at Red Parrot Studios in Germany, where she contributed to the feature film Tafiti. Alongside her studio work, she has been a Private Animation Tutor since 2015 and a Guest Animation Speaker since 2020, sharing her industry insights and experiences with post-secondary students. Her annual lectures focus on the business of animation, covering contracts, interviews, and real-world practices - designed to prepare and inspire the next generation of creatives.
