Animex Academy

Giving school children an exciting introduction to writing, design and animation

Teesside University in partnership with the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority are delighted to be able to bring all the fun and excitement of our festival into primary and secondary schools with a packed programme of outreach activities designed to inspire children and young adults to become the next generation of talented animators, storytellers, and games designers.

Schools participating in this event can download our Animex Academy packs from our website from Monday 16th May.

Two packs will be available: Animation for Literacy suitable for KS1 & KS2 and Games Design Coding suitable for KS3 & KS4. Created by Teesside University and Spark Tees Valley, each pack will contain a series of fantastic creative activities and short talks from some of the leading animators and games developers in the business! These activities can be delivered in schools by the teaching staff at any time, but Spark Tees Valley will also be running a live showcase that schools can attend virtually and show their work they’ve completed. The date of the showcase will be announced when the materials are released for download.

For any schools interested in taking part, please contact us at animex@tees.ac.uk and we’ll get back to you!
