Head of Production, Starz Animation

Speaking at Animex Talk

Matthew Teevan Matthew is responsible for the overall planning of delivery of the shows at Starz Animation. He has been in the business over 20 years. His first job was on Disney’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit in the rotoscoping and matte department, which led to six years at Amblimation, a London-based feature animation studio making films for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.

Matthew supervised the studio's transition from traditional ink and paint to digital compositing and computer graphics. He crossed the Atlantic to California as one of the first employees at DreamWorks SKG working on the ground-breaking Prince of Egypt, overseeing digital colour production and helping to establish the workflow and production management systems for this complex movie. Matthew has worked closely with every aspect of making an animated feature film from design through to post production. Since joining Starz Animation Toronto in 2006, Matthew has overseen the completion of three feature films including Tim Burton's 9, and has executive produced three proprietary short films. He is currently working with Miramax Films and Sir Elton John's Rocket Pictures on Gnomeo & Juliet, due for release this year.
