Pete Draper Pete is a UK-based freelance VFX animator and technical director who has been beating particles and polygons to a pulp for well over a decade. Holding such posts as Lead and Senior Artist, Head of Media and Director of Visual Effects, Pete has now returned to being a freelance VFX gun for hire, covering a wide range of disciplines.

He can be found producing funky stuff for film and TV, writing for various online or print-based publications or teaching workshops around the world. He writes for several publications, such as 3D World, providing tips, tricks, reviews and tutorials for 3ds Max and other animation and graphics tools. More recently he has spent considerable time in India working on Ghajini, VFX pipeline supervision and digital crowd control for Magadheera, which this year's workshop will be based on, and he's currently working on the feature Endhiran.

In addition to his popular Deconstructing the Elements series of books, Pete has also contributed to 3ds Max 2010 Architectural Visualisation - Advanced to Expert, 3ds Max 6 Killer Tips and 3ds Max 4 Magic, along with numerous papers and tutorials available for free on his own website. He is currently developing a large VFX Video Tutorial training series that will be due out in 2010.
