Pete Draper

Pete Draper A CG artist with well over a decade's industry experience, Pete worked initially as a fine/graphic artist before moving onto CG in the late 80's, early 90's. After working for several companies ranging from multimedia production through to TV with senior roles of Lead and Senior Artist and Head of Media, Pete worked as a freelancer for a number of years which gave him the opportunity to experience all areas of the industry including the time to write his own book Deconstructing the Elements with 3ds Max, which is currently being revised for a second edition (which the workshop at Animex'06 will be loosely based on). Since May 2004 Pete has been with Lightworx, a VFX and production house in Bristol as their Visual Effects Director, and heads up the animation and effects department with most recent work produced for the BBC - Submarine Rescue and Star Hyke. With Lightworx, Pete also designs and teaches bespoke 3D / VFX training.

Pete also writes for several CG-orientated magazines such as 3D World and Computer Arts amongst others and still finds time in his very very (very!) hectic schedule to help other budding artists on the numerous forums through the internet while providing a large resource of tutorials and papers on his own site.
