Sessions this year include storyboarding, character animation, anatomy, acting and much, much more.

Tickets for these workshops are available from the registration desk subject to availability.

All workshop attendees should assemble at the Registration Desk at 9.00am to be directed to their class. Those booked for an afternoon session should assemble at the Registration Desk at 1.00pm.

Character Animation Masterclass - Mark Walsh

If you're looking for somebody to teach you how to produce believable character animation, look no further. Mark is one of the best in the business. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Learn how to produce professional storyboards from the founder of one of the largest storyboard companies in North America.

Creating Natural Visual Effects with 3ds max 8 - Pete Draper - FULL

Effects Director Pete Draper gives you the chance to see how to create natural visual effects using 3DS Max 8. Pete will use real examples from his work to show just what you can do with a computer and a little bit of imagination!

Acting for Animators - Ed Hooks

The ever popular Ed Hooks returns to deliver two workshops. In the morning session Ed will run his highly acclaimed Acting for Animators class. In the afternoon, Ed will run a new Film Analysis class where he will work with you to look at how a few specific films work or don't work from an acting point of view.

Anatomy and Animation - Stuart Sumida

Stuart Sumida demonstrates how anatomical knowledge will enable you to create animated creatures and humans that are mechanically believable and accurate.

Toon Boom Solo has been used to create some of the most memorable 2D animated movies of recent times. Product specialist Piers Godden comes to teach you how to get the best out of this hugely popular software.
One session (full day) - 10 places

Character Design - Ken Wong, Art Director at Enlight Hong Kong

9.30am - 4.30pm (lunch break 12.30pm - 1.30pm)
One of the most common questions artists are asked is 'how do you get your ideas?' In this one-day workshop, anyone can learn how to generate and develop ideas for characters for games, animation, and other media. The focus is on imagination, creativity and visual language rather than drawing techniques. Ken is happy to give individual feedback on portfolios during the session.
One session (full day) - 20 places

Level Design Workshop - Richard 'Levelord' Gray, Ritual Entertainment

9.30am - 4.30pm (lunch break 12.30pm - 1.30pm)
The legendary Levelord will give participants the benefit of his extensive level wisdom as he guides you through the process of creating a paper based level design providing hints and tips along the way. If that doesn't tempt you, he tells us he's bringing along prizes!
