Animex Awards winners and runners up

A cosmopolitan winning line-up proves the global popularity of our annual Animex awards.

Winners and runners-up came from all over the world - France, South Korea, Canada and Belgium and of course the UK.

Ersha Sale from Teesside University was runner-up in the visual effects award for his composition Mara 'The Nightmare Sequence' which focused on recalling dreams.

The judges said of his work 'Excellent scene composition with the camera, solid technique and a good, tight edit. The dreamlike quality is consistent and the details of the environments have been carefully balanced to create a specific artistic vision.'

Justin Greetham, head of the Animex Awards, is delighted with the global spread of the awards: 'It's always great to see new work being submitted to Animex Awards from educational establishments which are new to this field.

'With the ever increasing interest in the 'art' of animation, at Teesside University we are constantly striving to develop new courses that not only accommodate the needs of the aspiring student but courses that also accommodate the requirements of an ever demanding games and animation industry.'
