Mathieu Lachance - Ubisoft Quebec
Mathieu has been in the video game industry for 17 years now. Starting his career as a game tester for Ubisoft Montréal. After 6 years as a tester, he decided that he wanted to have more impact on the games, he wanted to create them and not just test them. So at 30 years old, he decided to go back to school and become a Level Designer. Once he'd finished his course in Game Design, he joined Beenox in Quebec City as a Level Designer working on franchise such as Spider-Man and Skylanders. This helped Mathieu land a role at Ubisoft Quebec working on one of the biggest franchise in video games, Assassin’s Creed. So for a year and a half he worked with a great team on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate where he learned even more. For the past 4 years, he has been working on the latest opus of the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. At the beginning of the project he got the opportunity to take on the Lead Level Designer role, and with world the team, he created what is now the best open world of the Assassin’s Creed brand.
