Greg Fisher graduated from Chelsea School of Art with a degree in fine arts in 1997. He then went on to Teesside University where he was awarded a Masters Degree in Computer Graphics, specialising in animation.
In 2000 Greg joined Mill Film and worked as an Animator on films including Cats and Dogs, K-19: The Widowmaker, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Black Hawk Down.
Greg joined MPC in 2003 as Senior Animator working on Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkhaban and AVP (Alien Vs Predator). He stood out as one of MPC's most talented VFX artists and in 2008 Greg was promoted to Animation Supervisor on 10,000 BC bringing to life the Woolly Mammoths and Wrath of the Titans overseeing the animation of creatures and gods including Kronos, the Makhai warriors and 2 headed Chimera.
Greg is now MPC's Global Head of Animation and has overseen a number of high profile feature films including Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Maleficent and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Greg is currently MPC Animation Supervisor on Disney's The Jungle Book.
Talk: MPC presents: animating Groot
MPC Animation Supervisor and Teesside graduate Greg showcases the team’s work on the extraterrestrial, sentient tree-like creature Groot from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Bringing Groot to life was both an artistic and technical challenge, requiring a complex rigging system and variations including Groot Cocoon and Baby Groot.
