Animex Exhibition curator, Teesside University
Speaking at Animex Exhibition
After graduating in fine art from Central Saint Martin’s College in London, Stephen freelanced for worldwide magazine publishing company Condé Nast. He photographed advertising spreads for Harper’s, Tatler and Vogue.
Stephen returned to Teesside to take a photography degree at Cleveland College of Art & Design. During this time he kept some freelance clients including Manolo Blahnik. Stephen became interested in computers and started programming in the late 70’s. With the advent of personal computing and the editing program Photoshop, he felt like his options exploded. After completing an MSc Graduate Enterprise in Multimedia, Stephen set up a business with three fellow students. He took a full-time lecturing role at Teesside University as it began to introduce animation, visualisation and games courses.
In addition to lecturing, Stephen curates Animex Exhibition and ExpoTees.
