Andy Ross

Speaking at Animex Workshop

A Royal Television Society award winning writer/director, he started his career at the Hollywood studio Columbia Tristar working on blockbusters Jerry Maguire, Men in Black and Godzilla. Applying his skills to forging a career in the UK industry, Andy has since written and directed work for the New Cinema Fund, ITV1 and the Arts Council.

Andy has developed new writers through his own self devised advanced screenwriting programme at the Teesside University. Endorsed by Northern Film and Media, and running in tandem with Skillset’s Philip Parker courses, the programme developed over ten commissioned pieces in its first year alone, with graduates since going on to win international awards and feature script funding. Passionately committed to helping new talent, Andy presently lectures at universities across the country and continues to mentor screen agencies on their development of scripts.
