Stuart Sumida Stuart is a Professor of Biology at California State University, the author of three books and over 50 peer-reviewed publications with funding from the National Science Foundation, National Geographic Society, NATO, and the Annenberg Foundation.

He has been an anatomical consultant on over 50 major motion pictures at studios including Walt Disney Feature Animation, DreamWorks, SONY, StarZ, Rhythm and Hues, and PIXAR. Stuart’s earliest films included Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, and most recently he has worked on Disney's Tangled and DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon. He is currently working on The Life of Pi with Ang Lee and Fox Studios, Croods with DreamWorks, Mr. Popper’s Penguins with Rhythm and Hues, and Winter’s Tale with Starz.

In 2008 he was named Outstanding Professor for Science, Engineering and Mathematics for the entire California State University system.
