A fantastic showcase of ground breaking animated shorts from around the world curated by Chris Wyatt. The 2011 selection will feature an eclectic mix of styles and genres, award winning films, festival favourites and several films in the running for this years academy award. Whether you're a fan of European conceptuality or laugh out loud comedy, there will be something for everyone.

Animex Feature: Waking Sleeping Beauty
7.30pm, Cineworld Middlesbrough

Do not miss this excellent behind the scenes documentary from director Don Hahn. The film charts a pivotal period of time from 1984 to 1994 when a perfect storm of people and circumstances changed the face of animation forever. Waking Sleeping Beauty is no fairy tale. It's the true story of how Disney regained its magic with a staggering output of hits - The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King and more over a 10-year period.
