A selection of animated feature films screened especially for a family audience at Cineworld in Middlesbrough. Before the films are screened there will be fun in the foyer from 9.30am so please arrive early All mams and dads must be accompanied by at least one child.

Monday 8 February

British Animation Awards : Public Choice Screening 1
6.00pm, Cineworld, Middlesbrough
The British Animation Awards invites you, the audience, to vote for winners in three categories, by viewing then using voting-forms supplied at the screenings. Each programme contains a mix of short films, animated commercials and music videos, drawn from entries to BAA 2010, including several international festival award winners.

The best of Punto Y Raya 2007
8.00pm, Cineworld, Middlesbrough

The Punto Y Raya Festival is a unique festival focusing on purely abstract animation. Organised and curated by Ana Santos and Noel Palazzo, the international festival and competition is held biennially in Barcelona, Spain. The program 'The Best of Punto y Raya 2007' features the 13 finalist and awarded films in its first edition. The first-prize winning animation was the computer animation 'Mercurius' by Bret Battey (UK).

This screening at Animex is introduced by Sabrina Schmid.

The Best of Punto Y Raya 2009

The Punto Y Raya Festival is a unique festival focusing on purely abstract animation. Organised and curated by Ana Santos and Noel Palazzo, the international festival and competition is held biennially in Barcelona, Spain. 'The Best of Punto y Raya 2009' features the 16 finalist and awarded films in its second edition. The first-prize winning animation was the op-art animation 'Linearea' by Luigi Scotti & Teresa Aguas (Portugal).

This screening at Animex is introduced by Sabrina Schmid & Sebastian Castagna, authors of one of the films 'Evariations' included in the programme.
