This year's schedule includes choice selections of acclaimed international shorts and features from the festival circuit, special guest screenings and the very best in new student animation from around the world selected from our own Animex Awards, so you can be sure of some fantastic entertainment.

The week begins with the Features for Families screenings at the Cineworld multiplex on Saturday 6th February where kids can bring their parents and watch their pick of a selection of fine films for free.

Along with our usual line up of festival favourites, family features and exciting new work from the Animex Awards, audiences will be able to view a collection of abstract and experimental work from the Punto Y Raya festival in Spain.

The screen programme this year also sees the welcome return of the British Animation Awards to Animex. With free screenings of the Best in British Animation from the last two years, not only will you have the chance to see a wide ranging selection of fine animation, you can also vote for your favourites and influence who will win a coveted British Animation Awards Public Choice prize.

Screenings will take place daily at the Teesside University campus and at the Cineworld Multiplex in Middlesbrough and are all free of charge, unless otherwise stated.

Please check the screening summary for full details of what is happening during the week and remember to check the website regularly for announcements of any surprise screenings.

With such an eclectic mix of fine films you can be sure that whatever your taste in animation there will be something for everyone at Animex 2010.
