Rachelle has been a professional recruiter and talent scout in the entertainment industry for many years. Currently Rachelle runs her own company, Rachelle Lewis Talent, which specialises in placing animation and vfx artists for studios worldwide, as well as representing a select group of Animation Directors, VFX Supes and show creators.
Before starting her own company, Rachelle oversaw the talent procurement for Digital Domain, the five-time Academy Award winning visual effects company. She and her team crewed three feature films for DD including Clint Eastwood’s Flags of our Fathers, Ivan Reitman’s Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Peter Hewitt’s Zoom. She also worked closely with DD’s Commercials Division, which is recognized as the most “awarded” visual effects studio worldwide in the commercial/music video genre.
Previous to Digital Domain, Rachelle worked for Sony Pictures Imageworks, where she specialized in finding and placing animators and other digital character artists on feature films including Open Season, The Chronicles of Narnia, Surf’s Up, Monster House and Ghost Rider. She also worked with DreamWorks Feature Animation where she brought in artists for features including Shark Tale, and Over the Hedge. Rachelle started her career in the animation/vfx industry through television animation, where she worked for many years as Director of Recruitment for Klasky Csupo, best known for it’s Emmy Award winning TV series Rugrats and Wild Thornberrys.
Rachelle lectures at art schools, universities, festivals and industry events throughout North America and Europe. She acts in an advisory capacity developing the animation and vfx curriculum with numerous schools and resides in Santa Monica, California with her dog Russell and cat Lena Kiki Vanderpooten III.
