12 September 07

Animex and Aardman Animation, the home of Wallace and Gromit, Creature Comforts and Chicken Run, are pleased to announce the launch of a new award ‘The Aardman Award for Storytelling’.

This new and exciting prize will be available to EU students who have produced a frame by frame or computer-assisted animated film made between 1 October 2006 and 1 October 2007.

The winner will receive an expenses paid trip to the Aardman Studio in Bristol as well as, a few days of dramaturgical/script support to discuss the development of the recipient’s new film.

Paula Newport, Head of HR at Aardman Studio said, ‘We’re really excited about the prospect of providing dramaturgical/script support for the winner of the Aardman Award for Storytelling. It’s an exciting time for the studio at the moment as we embark on a new three-year deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment. We are also looking forward to the prospect of engaging with some of the fresh and exciting student work that is submitted into the Animex Awards.’

If you think you have what it takes to work alongside four-time Oscar-winning studio Aardman Animations, send us your work before 1 October 2007.
