The curtains came down on Animex 2004 on Friday with a general view that this year's festival was the best yet.
Animex 2004 was without doubt the biggest festival the organisers have attempted to put on to date with a number of additions to the week's activities including Animex Game and the Animex Student Animation Awards. The whole event was however a resounding success with speakers and delegates leaving with kind words and fond memories. Mark Walsh of Pixar said : "Animex is fantastic, it is bringing animators from all over the globe together. I met the bloke who designed Bob the Builder yesterday and I was like 'wow' - I love that programme. It is also fantastic to get the chance to see what the students here are doing."
Festival Director Chris Williams said "The fact that top drawer professionals from companies like Pixar and Industrial Light + Magic have asked if they can come back must mean we're doing something right. I have to send out thanks to everybody that's helped to make the event a huge success. There are an awful lot of people involved in making Animex work and without their enthusiasm and support the event just wouldn't be what it is."
