The main event – a two-day fest of presentations, views and insights from some of the greatest animators in the world today. Animex Lounge, part of Animex Talk!, gives you the chance to talk to some of our speakers in the relaxed atmosphere of one of Middlesbrough's premier venues.

Lars Johannson talks about his role as CG Supervisor on the movie The Medallion, a Hong Kong based action movie starring Jackie Chan and Lee Evans.

1.00pm Announcement of the Animex Awards winners
Guest speaker and judging panelist Shelley Page will announce the award winners in the nine main competition categories of the Animex Student Animation Awards 2004. A selection of winners will be screened at this session including the Best Short Animation winners. The complete Animex Winners Reel will be screened on Saturday at BALTIC.
2.00pm Bringing CG Characters to Life
An insight into how ILM bring characters to life through a combination of key frame animation, motion capture and matchimation. There will also be the chance to see how shots from Hulk and Pirates of the Caribbean were constructed.

4.00pm From the Toy Box to the Fish Bowl
The first visit of Pixar Animation Studios to Animex. In this session we will get the chance to see how some of the most memorable computer generated animated imagery was brought to the big screen.
