Pete Draper is a full-time freelance CG artist with over 10 years industry experience. Originally starting out as a fine artist and graphic designer, Pete discovered several 3D programs for his old Archimedes computer and 3D Studio R3 in his University's CAD laboratory.
After channelling his love for art into this new medium, he graduated and joined a local company producing multimedia for CBT applications which enabled him to focus on all aspects of 3D production, before joining companies aimed more at film, TV and DVD production.
Now located in the South West of England, Pete has gone back to his freelancing roots, something he did throughout college, university and early employment. Previous positions as Lead and Senior Artist and Head of Media enabled him to provide sound advice with regards to tips and techniques when working with 3ds max. This expertise can be found in the publications he writes for, such as Computer Arts and 3D World magazines, in which he is the resident 3ds max expert. He has also contributed to 3ds max 4 Magic from New Riders.
Freelancing now gives him the opportunity to produce work for a wider range of clients and therefore a broader range of work from title motion graphics to Special FX, historical reconstructions to concept print work, commercials to in-house training, book tutorials to architectural visualisation.
Pete's work, including online versions of the papers and articles he has written in the past, can be found at www.xenomorphic.co.uk, and he can be contacted at email@example.com or on +44 (0)7879 045 451
